From research to readiness

Your company setup roadmap

A practical planning sequence for discussing your formation with local authorities and advisers. Country-specific instructions take precedence.

Step 1

Foreign ownership & activity

Ask whether your nationality, ownership percentage and proposed business activity require investment approval, a local partner or a sector licence.

Step 2

Directors & local presence

Confirm the required directors, shareholders, registered office, local representative and any residency or company-secretary rules.

Step 3

Capital & incorporation costs

Obtain the current minimum capital, filing fees, notarisation costs, translations and annual renewal or service charges for the selected legal form.

Step 4

Tax & ongoing compliance

Verify corporate tax, VAT or sales tax, withholding, beneficial-ownership reporting, accounting, audit and annual-return obligations.

Step 5

Banking & immigration

Check bank onboarding and source-of-funds evidence separately. Company registration should not be treated as approval for banking, residence or work permission.

Prepare a document pack

Ask the registry for the exact list before ordering translations or certifications. Common items to discuss include identity evidence, residential and registered addresses, proposed names, ownership details, constitutional documents, business activities and parent-company authorisations.

Plan beyond incorporation

Request a written schedule covering annual returns, accounts, tax filings, beneficial-owner updates, licence renewals and any audit requirements. Confirm who is responsible for each filing.
